Product
Description
:
Offering a natural, antibiotic-free and economical alternative to capsules and boluses, UterFlush uses essential oils to help maintain or restore the normal uterine environment which helps insure cow reproductive performance post-calving. The fast-acting liquid flush is available in a convenient 1-ounce multi-dose tube and a 5-ounce container. The calibration ring on the syringe can be used to dispense from one to eight 3.75-ml administrations at a time. When mixed with distilled water, the solution is inserted into the cervix with a pipette tube. Once inside the uterus, UterFlush foams up and expands to all areas of the uterus, allowing for full coverage. In university trials, the active compound used in this all-natural product was more effective against all varieties of bacteria tested than several antibiotics. For added convenience, UterFlush can be used right after calving or after the cervix has contracted, typically within three to six hours post-calving. Because the product leaves no residue, no milk withholding is required.

Product
Description
:
An innovative three-part device can make hoof bath an easier job for dairy farmers, while saving money on cleaning concentrate. Lightweight and durable, the easy-to-assemble Intra Bath consists of two double-walled, high strength plastic tubs and a stainless steel grill that fits between the two tubs. Designed for ease of handling, it reduces strain on the operator, making daily use an easy chore. Intra Bath reduces the amount of concentrate needed in several ways. With a capacity of about 35 percent less than a traditional bath, it can treat more using less product. No product is mixed under the belly. Because the Intra Bath is longer than regular baths, hoofs receive more dips or treatments in the bath solution. And, since 60 percent of any manure falls through the grill to the barn floor, the solution says cleaner for increased effectiveness. When not being used, Intra Bath can be disassembled quickly to take up less storage space than conventional baths.

Product Description: In three minutes, a patent pending machine can eliminate burrowing rodents from a complex, covering up to 400 square feet, using carbon monoxide in the exhaust from an internal combustion engine, says the inventor, Dana Shaw. The Cheetah DM1100 exterminates rodents living in open burrow systems, such as squirrels, voles, prairie dogs and gophers. The 15-pound portable unit features a twocycle engine and a centrifugal fan assembly. This assembly collects the exhaust from the engine, compresses it and blows it through the exhaust tube, which is placed in the entry/exit opening of the rodent tunnel. "It's rugged, easy to use and very cost effective," Shaw says. "It uses no explosives and doesn't harm root systems." In extensive field trials, farmers have achieved a kill rate of more than 80 percent with the first treatment. Second, third and fourth treatments have reduced seasonal populations by more than 95 percent. "It's ideal for use on slopes and in open country," he says.

Product Description: A new metabolic plant stimulant, developed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, allows farmers to make more efficient use of nitrogen while increasing nitrate uptake and carbon fixation. Take Off enhances growth of tree fruit, vines, vegetables and grain crops, including wheat and corn. It represents a major breakthrough in improving crop productivity, says Biagro Western Sales, Inc., which has obtained exclusive international rights to market the product. The company has tested Take Off in four years of field trials in Europe and in other research in the United States. The product accelerates plant maturity, allowing plants to assimilate nitrogen efficiently by coordinating nitrogen uptake and photosynthesis. In field tests, Take Off reduced nitrogen inputs by 25 percent to 35 percent. It increases yields without the use of growth hormones, by enhancing levels of nutrients already in the plant. The product can be applied as a spray to plant leaves or as a root treatment.

Biological Water Treatment System

Product Description: A new environmentally- friendly water treatment system offers farmers and ranchers a more economical alternative to mechanical filters for removing pollutants when recycling and reusing waste water when cleaning farm equipment. The Biological Water Treatment System uses fixed film bacteria to digest most types of wastes, including oils, greases and hydrocarbons. The process leaves behind only water, which can be reused endlessly, and carbon dioxide. Most hydrocarbons disappear after the digestion process, resulting in little, if any, waste, says the company. Capital costs of this system are similar to conventional mechanical filtration systems. However, it does not have the expensive filter media disposal costs nor the labor and maintenance expenses of a mechanical filtration system. For wash pads with access to sewers, the environmentallyfriendly system can be used to augment local wastewater treatment plants. Otherwise, it can be used in a total closed loop recycling system without the odors of a typical, conventional system.

Easy Rake Silage Facer

Product Description: Designed by dairy farmers, the Easy Rake Silage Facer loader attachment saves time, reduces maintenance costs and protects silage quality by preserving particle length. Unlike mechanical silage facers, this tool has no moving parts to maintain, hoses to attach or motors to replace. Simply lift the rake to the top of the pile and pull it down along the face of the silage. "The Easy Rake maintains the feed quality that digging into the pile with a bucket to remove it destroys," says Adam Zeltwanger, a member of the team that spent four years developing the unit for its dairy operation, Riverview, LLP, Morris, Minn. "Also, this tool doesn't grind up the silage like a mechanical facer does. It cuts facing time in half, allowing you more time for other tasks around the farm, and it works on just about any size pile." The quick-attach unit is available in various sizes to fit skid-steer loaders, wheel loaders and telehandlers.
