Ezy-Lift: The fast, safe, easy way to load a pickup truck

In less than 90 seconds, with the push of a button, one person can load up to 2,000 pounds of cargo in the back of a pickup or flatbed truck, using the new model 2000-8.0PT Ezy-Lift.

"It's truly a one-of-a-kind device, says Clayton Isemann, president of Ezy- Lift of California, Inc., at Valley Center, the exclusive distributor of Ezy-Lift products for California. "Nothing else can do what it does — it's a crane with lift gate capabilities that prevents injuries and saves you time and money by design. The patented lift enables you to place your load anywhere in the bed of the truck. There's no need to manually lift, slide or push or use any type of wheels to move or place the load. You can even lift dead weight on uneven surfaces."

It's handy for lifting a wide range of equipment, supplies and other objects and materials commonly found on a job site farm or ranch, such as a propane tank, an irrigation pump, or injured or dead livestock. "You just drive up to your cargo, lift the load and go," he says.

The electrohydraulically-powered lifting system, which weighs only about 385 pounds, fits into the back of most full-size pickup trucks with a 6½ foot to 8 foot bed. It mounts out of sight and without changing the appearance of the truck or reducing cargo space. The 11-gauge steel main frame has a durable black finish. The lifting arm opens up to a maximum height of 92 inches above the bed and extends back more than 5 feet beyond the bed.

The unit uses a Mile Marker crane winch and 5/16th-inch diameter aircraft cable for lifting. The winch has a 294:1 gear ratio, an automatic load-holding brake and a planetary gear system. The 25 foot cable is equipped with a 1½-ton eye hoist hook with a safety latch.

A two-button, four-way hand control with a 10-foot cord allows you to operate the winch and to control the lift arm at a safe distance. A heavy-duty, allweather wireless remote control is also available.

"You can operate the Ezy-Lift as far as 10 feet away from the load so there's virtually no chance of an injury," Isemann says. "Lifting heavy loads and placing them in the truck becomes a safe and easy, one-handed, one-person operation." The unit operates on 12-volt DC directly from the battery, with an in-line 150-amp fuse. The bi-directional hydraulic system has a directional flow control valve and two 3-inch cylinders.

Regional sales and installation are available for Ezy-Lift products and installation instructions are also available. Other than drilling holes for electrical and hydraulic lines, installation requires little or no modifications to the truck, Isemann says.

Ezy-Lift is made in the USA, and the 2,000 pound lift model has a suggested retail price of $6,100, which includes a one-year manufacturer's warranty from date of purchase.

The company also makes models for service bodies, flatbeds and trailers. The Model 1000 has a 1,000 pound lift capacity for 1/2 ton pickups, while an 800 pound lift model fits John Deere and Kubota UTV utility vehicles. The newest model, the Grizzly, is a complete flatbed unit with a fully integrated 3,000-pound lift, available in 8 foot and 10 foot lengths.
